Vagal nerve stimulation has been previously used to treat conditions like epilepsy and depression. However, we are excited to offer a new treatment for patients who have suffered a stroke. Dr. Conner was the first physician in Connecticut to implant the Vivistim system for paired-VNS occupational therapy. Patients who have it implanted undergo specialized rehab and see significant improvements in function even years after their stroke has occurred.
